88 Delta/Dynamic/Jetstar/Super 1961 - 1966
1961 - The 88 was no longer the bottom of the Olds range. It was the most diverse of the Olds range with 7 body styles offered. The Super combined the light 88 body with the powerful 325hp engine from the 98. Standard equipment included two-speed wipers, Safety-Vee steering wheel and parking brake lamp.
1962 - The front and rear were restyled.
1963 - Yet another restyle. Standard equipment included deep rile carpeting and a 21 gallon fuel tank. Super models also had a map light and heavy duty air filter. Vehicles were built in Lansing, Atlanta, Kansas City, Linden, Southgate, Wilmington and Arlington.
1964 - The Jetstar was added to the range of 88 based models. This was the entry level model. The Dynamic was the next model up and included courtesy lights. The Super range now only contained two models. Additional features included special chrome moulding package, chrome window frames, parking brake light and rear fold-down armrest.
1965 - All the range had new bodies, standard equipment included electric windshield wipers and carpeting. The up market Delta models were introduced. The Delta package offered special mouldings, chrome door frames, deluxe interior trim, folding center arm-rest and courtesy lamps.
1966 - The Delta stood alone as a separate series. Standard equipment included front and rear seat belts, carpeting, padded dash, winshield washer and two-speed wipers, deluxe steering wheel, foam seat cushions, back-up lamps, courtesy and map lights, special armrests and parking brake lights.

98/98 Classic 1961 - 1966
1961 - The 98 was the top of the range, but the new Starfire cut into its sales. Additional items over others in the Olds range were windshield washers,Hydr-Matic transmision, power steering and power brakes.
1962 - 98s were made at Lansing, Kansas City, Linden, Southgate and Wilmington.
1963 - The Custom Sports Coupe was the only model in the range to be offered with the Starfire engine.
1964/1965 - All 98 models were now built in Lansing.
1966 - Like the other models in the Olds range the 98 was fitted with front and rear seat belts etc.

F-85 1961 - 1966
1961 - For the first time Oldsmobile broke its three series format with the introduction of the F-85 compact car. It was the smallest post-war Olds and was fitted with a aluuminum 215ci V8. Standard equipment included foam cushion front seat, front armrests, dual sun visors and turn signals. Interiors were available in cloth or vinyl. The car was built in Lansing and Southgate assembly plants. Standard and Deluxe versions were offered. In the deluxe range the Coupe was named a Cutlass.
1962 - The range was expanded and consisted of ten models including a turbo charged 2 door coupe called the Jetfire. Standard equipment included heater, defroster, coil springs and three-speed synchromesh transmission.
1963 - The F-85 was increased in length by four inches. There were three standard models, two deluxe, two Cutlass models and the turbocharged Jetfire. Deluxe equipment included carpets, front and reat foam rubber seats and deluxe steering wheels. 1964 - The F-85 was completely redesigned and gained 11 inches in length. The aluminum engine was replaced by either a V6 or cast iron V8. This was the first year that the 4-4-2 option package (code B09) was offered. 4-4-2 standing for 4 barrels, 4 speed and dual (2) exhaust. Other 4-4-2 equipment included heavy-duty suspension, dual snorkel air cleaner, oversized tires and special 4-4-2 badges. F-85 models were built in Lansing, Atlanta, Kansas City, Linden, Southgate and Arlington.
1965 - The car was midly restyled. This year the 4-4-2 stood for 400cid, 4 barrel carb and dual (2) exhaust. Standard equipment included self-adjusting brakes and front seat belts.
1966 - The range became increasingly popular. Standard equipment was front and rear seat belts, padded dash, windshield washer, two-speed wipers, back-up lights, outside rear view mirror and vinyl floor covering. The Deluxe models offered foam padded seat cushions, carpeting, chrome roof mouldings and deluxe steering wheel. Cutlass models came with the option of bucket or custom seats, deluxe armrests and a courtesy light package.

1964/1965 - The Jetstar was introduced in 1964 as a low cost companion to the Starfire. It was a single model series. Jetstars were built alongside Dynamic 88s. It has the same engine as fitted to the Starfire and 98 models.

Starfire 1961 - 1966
1961 - The Starfire, a 2 door convertible, sharing the same wheelbase as the 88 and a slightly more potent Rocket engine was launched. Additional features over the 88 included brushed aluminum side panels, bucket seats, console, tachometer, power seats and dual exhaust system. The seats were leather. Starfires were only built in Lansing. 1962/1963/1964 - The range was developed in order to capture more of the luxury car market. A 2 door hardtop was added to the range. It was fitted with the most powerful Oldsmobile engine.
1965 - Standard equipment included a t-stick controlled Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission, power steering and brakes, courtesy lights, bucket seats, console, tach, padded dash, parking light brake, deluxe steering wheel, special wheel covers, windshield washers and electric wipers, power windows and seats.
1966 - The Starfire was being squeezed in the market by the 98 two door models and by the new Tornado and this was the final year of production for the model.

1966 - The Tornado was Oldsmobile first front wheel drive car. All the early Tornados were built at Lansing. Standard equipment was comprehensive and included power steering and brakes, carpeting, deluxe armrests, instrument panel and courtesy lamps, outside rear view mirror and parking brake light.

Vista Cruiser 1964 - 1966
1964 - The Vista Cruiser was a late introduction during the model year. It was 5 inches longer than the F-85. It has an elevated section over the cargo area. It was built in Lansing, Atlanta, Kansas City, Linden, Southgate and Arlington. It was available as a standard or custom version.
1965/1966 - 1965 was the first full year of production for the Vista Cruiser. Standard equipment included tinted roof glass, underfloor luggage department, electric windshield wipers and self-adjusting brakes. Custom models were fitted with deluxe steering wheel, padded dash, chrome window frames and foam padded seat cushions.
